Join us for the Challenge for Diabetes
To date we've raised over $350,000
The
Challenge for Diabetes began in 1996 when we became
involved with the Diabetes Institute at the University
of Minnesota Medical School. Their goals in research
were a source of hope for the cure for and prevention
of this devastating disease. Diabetes claims more
lives each year than AIDS and Breast Cancer combined.
To date our event has raised about $350,000.
With
our support and that of thousands of volunteers
statewide the Diabetes Institute has become the
world's leader in pancreas transplantation, islet
cell research and trials, and now stem cell research.
This is indeed exciting for people with diabetes
and their families.
Our
event is a fun filled day of golf fishing or tennis
followed by dinner and a silent auction at Northland
Country Club. Each year a representative from
the Diabetes Institute gives a research update
at the closing dinner.
We
have hope for a cure from the great work being
done at the Diabetes Institute, but we are still
not there. Your help is needed to make a cure
possible. Please join us for this years Challenge
for Diabetes and help build the momentum toward
a cure.
